Steve Anchell literally wrote the book on photography, five in fact. Since 1994, his international bestseller, The Darkroom Cookbook, can be found on the reference shelf of every university that maintains a darkroom program. His 2017 textbook, Digital Photo Assignments, has become a bestseller in universities.
Since 1989, Anchell has written technical articles, reviews, and interviews for magazines in the US and Europe. He has held the role of contributing editor to Outdoor Photographer; senior editor for Photovision: Art & Technique; and executive editor for Focus Fine Art Photography magazine.
